Tour Description
The Jewish heritage tour takes you around the old Jewish quarter of the capital where in line with the three religious tendencies existing in Hungary, they built three large synagogues. Walking around the neighborhood guests can get acquainted with the Jewish history, tradition, culture, and presence in Budapest. The tour includes the Jewish Museum, the Jewish Cemetery, and the Tree of Life - Holocaust Memorial.
You can visit three Synagogues: the Rumbach, Kazinczy, and the Dohany Synagogue (the world's second largest). This area of Pest, located around the three synagogues, still has a special atmosphere and ambiance reminiscent of the life of the tragically decimated Jewry and its significant cultural and economic role in Hungarian society. In the “Jewish Triangle of Pest,” there are 150 years of Hungarian Jewish history in a single place.
Our expanded tour covers more Jewish sights in the city: the Glass House, St. Stephen's Park, the "Shoes" along the river Danube, the Raul Wallenberg Statue in Buda, the Medieval Synagogue in the Castle area, the Medieval Mikva, and the Holocaust Museum.
